
The Junior High Quiz Bowl Team earned some hardware at the Alma JH QB Invite placing 2nd out of 8 teams! The team won their pool and then lost a close championship match to Axtell. Go Pirates!


The Pirate Speech Team competed at Maxwell on Saturday (3/8). Kara Broackman placed 1st in Persuasive Speaking, 4th in Extemporaneous, and 5th in Triathlon (an award given for overall performance in 3 events). Christdolyn Hagan and Adrianna Seberger placed 4th in Duet Acting. On to Districts on March 18! Go Pirates!


There will be a 2:27 dismissal on Thursday, March 13 and No School on Friday, March 14 due to winter break.

February 29th is designated as Rare Disease Day. Throughout the last year, with community and school efforts combined, Elwood Public Schools have raised over $4000 to show their support for our 4 students who each have their very own Rare Disease. The money will be given out equally between the 4 different organizations chosen by their parents. This is a truly remarkable accomplishment! Thank you all for your donations to raise awareness for Rare Diseases!

Have you ever wanted to be a severe weather spotter? Here is your chance.
There will be a severe weather spotter training for Gosper County on April 22nd at 6:30 pm at the Elwood Fire Hall. It is open to the public.

The Elwood Elementary students were blessed by a gracious donation that allowed each and every student in the elementary to receive their very own book from the book fair.
We would like to thank the gracious donor for the gift of reading!


The Pre-K received a surprise visit today in the form of a baby calf! Several of the students had never been this close to one before, so it was quite a fun experience! Thank you so much Jeff and Codina Moore for stopping by to show us!

The 2025 Hi-Line Dance Camp is in the books! Thank you so much to all of the participants of this year's camp! We had 60 participants this year from Eustis-Farnam & Elwood Pre-K through 6th grade. What a great turn out! A special thank you goes to Shane & Laura Tilson of Smack n' Smooch for the super cute t-shirts again this year! Thank you!! :)

Medalists were: Kara Brockman, 1st in Varsity Persuasive and 4th in Varsity Entertainment; Adrianna Seberger and Christdolyn Hagan, 5th in Vasity Duet Acting; Kass Salisbury, 5th in Varsity Informative and 6th in Varsity Program of Oral Interp.
