Shout out to Lauren Hickey and Alayna Moore for their performances at State Speech today. Even though the results weren't what they hoped for, these young ladies did a fantastic job of representing Elwood at State Speech. Congratulations, Lauren and Alayna!


Two Rivers Public Health Department is asking area residents to reach out for a clinic being held at Phelps County Agricultural Center on Thursday, March 25, 2021. The clinic, hosted by Two Rivers Public Health Department in partnership with Phelps Memorial Health Center, is looking for all of those in the Phase 1B Tier of the State vaccine prioritization.

Registration is now open for up coming PreK and Kindergarten students for the 2021-2022. Please call the school to have your child/children put on the list, ends April 1st. PreK must be 4 years of Age by July 31st, Kindergarten must be 5 by July 31st.. Thank you 308-785-2491

Fortunately the sun came out and it was a decent day for a track meet. Here are the results. Our next competition is Wednesday the 24th in Trenton.



Here is a look at the order of events for today's triangular, it is a bit different than a regular meet and in some events the boys and girls will run together. Looking forward to our first track meet in almost two years!

11 Elwood students in grade 6-8 participated in a Virtual Regional Science Fair held at NCTA this week. This is 1 of 6 Regional Science Fairs around the state. Receiving purple ribbons were Braxton Kohl, Destiny Parker, Kara Brockman. Receiving blue ribbons were Aniston Peterson, Brody Diefenbaugh, Jostin Grimm, Karter Tilson, Zailey Moler. Receiving red ribbons were Bree Corey, Kassandra Rodriguez, Samarha Barrow.
Kara Brockman was 1 of 6 students at the Regional Science Fair to qualify for the State Science Fair in April. Congratulations to all students. Way to represent our AMAZING school!

Congratulations to Hanna Wood! She is the winner of UNK's Phi Eta Sigma writing contest with her essay, "2020 In a Nutshell." She has won a prize of $100, and she will present her essay during UNK's Zoom event at 4:30 pm on 16 April. We're so proud of your writing, Hanna!

Today the choir students will be attending FKC Vocal Clinic in Wilcox. The students will be performing a concert at 5:00 p.m.. Parents and grandparents are welcome to attend. Please wear a mask. The Nebraska Department of Education is seeking input on the first draft of the Nebraska Health Education Standards. The proposed standards create a framework for students to acquire health knowledge and skills necessary to maintain and promote lifelong health.
