Elwood Public School is looking for a head cook for the 2023-2024 school year. The position will begin approximately July 15, 2023, for training and end approximately May 31, 2024. The job will entail food ordering, menu creation, ensuring compliance with all USDA food service regulations, preparing breakfast and lunch, and general cleanup. The work week will consist of 40-45 hours, and the hourly wage will be dependent on experience. This position will also receive single BC/BS health and dental insurance and 7 sick days, accruable up to 40 days. Workdays begin approximately 5:30 am and end between 2 and 3 pm. The job will entail helping to prepare breakfast and lunch meals, food orders, and washing trays. The work week will consist of 35-40 hours, and hourly wage will be dependent on experience. This position comes with 7 sick days, accruable up to 40 days. Workdays generally begin around 6:00 am and end between 2 and 3 pm. Elwood Public School is looking for a full-time custodian for the 2023-2024 school year. The position will begin immediately and is a year-round position. The job will entail cleaning classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, emptying trash, and working evening events. The work week will consist of 45-50 hours per week. This position requires a minimum of nine hours per day. BC/BS single insurance and single dental are also included with this position, as are 10 days of vacation time, 7 sick days, and 6 paid holidays. Our Foods class celebrated with our Seniors on their last day with our CupCake Wars! Team Senior won Best Piping and Best Tasting. Team Sassy won Best Presentation, and Team Top Chef won Best cupcake overall!




It is our seniors' last day of school and our senior breakfast tradition continues. Our teachers brought lots of delicious breakfast foods for the seniors to enjoy. We will miss this group and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!
