Matt Mason, the Nebraska State Poet, will be visiting our school tomorrow, Thursday, 25 April. His visit is being funded by Humanities Nebraska, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and the State of Nebraska. An assembly in the gym will begin at 3 pm, and it is open to the public.

The 5th graders went to the Water Jamboree at the Harlan County Reservoir today! They learned all about water, irrigation, hydropower, and forest buffers! They even got to launch water rockets and loved playing with bubbles!

7th graders made observations on Monday about rocks and minerals. A very important part of the scientific process is to revise your observations. Today they are looking at the rocks and minerals again, revising their observations and adding new details to their observations. Great work Science 7.

Elwood students enjoyed competing this year in Esports against teams around Nebraska in 5 different games. Many of our teams made it to the 2nd and 3rd round of state playoffs in Fall and Spring. We were close to being eligible to attend the state tournaments.

Foods class had fun cooking eggs several ways to close our foodborne illness unit. Not only did they practice safe cooking practices with eggs, but they enjoyed trying eggs cooked in ways they had never tried before.
