This group of Elwood kids just got back from Washington, D.C.! The places we saw/visited were the Washington Monument, U.S. Capitol Building, Holocaust Museum, National Archives Building, Smithsonian Museums of Natural & American History, the White House, Mount Vernon, and Arlington National Cemetery where we were able to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We also saw many memorials such as the Lincoln, Vietnam War, Korean War, FDR, MLK, Jr., WWII, Marine Corps (Iwo Jima), & Thomas Jefferson. We even went to Gettysburg and toured the battlefield where part of the Civil War was fought! It was so much fun and everyone came back with lots of new memories and knowledge of our nation’s history!
