Kara Brockman competed at State MathCounts today in Lincoln. A total of 68 students participated, with less than 5 students from Class D schools. Congratulations Kara!


So proud of these 8th grade boys who taught the preschoolers about speed. velocity, gravity, forces, mass distribution, potential energy, and kinetic energy using the preschool's marble drop to explain these difficult topics. These boys definitely conveyed their love of science.

Teachers’ In-service 3/16/22
Miss Deaver opened the in-service with information on an upcoming survey that a specific demographic student population will be taking part in very soon.
Mrs. Dean and Mr. Seberger briefly discussed our writing goals and deadlines to complete the requirements for this school year, and then had the teachers break into two groups. The Elementary and English/LA educators worked together with Mrs. Hatch on the ELA Curriculum Matrix, while the remainder of the educators compiled Writing Data for 1st-12th grade students.

Our Friend of the Week is Sabastian! He was nominated for going out of his way to help a friend on the playground! We love seeing students doing what is right even when they think no one is watching! Great job, Sabastian!


Ten student traveled to NCTA today to represent Elwood at the Western Regional Science Fair. Connor Edwards placed in the top 6 projects and qualified for the State Science Fair on April 21st in Lincoln.



Elwood Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, March 10th due to forecasted weather conditions. There will be no activity practices on Thursday. Track practice scheduled for Friday has also been cancelled.

Our Friend of the Week is Harper! She was nominated for being patient and helpful when her friends need it! Great job, Harper!


On March 2nd, Kara Brockman, Noah Rand, and Karter Tilson represented Elwood at the Central Nebraska Science and Engineering Fair held at UNK. Students took home a total of 10 awards, including 2 projects in the top 5. Students will compete again on March 14th at NCTA.



There will be no school on Friday March 11th due to winter break. Also, There will be a late start on Wednesday March 16th. Buses will run appx 2 hours late. PK will dismiss at 1:30. There will be no breakfast served on that day.

The Pirate Speech Team is at Districts in Loup City today. Those qualifying for finals are: Delaney Collins, Serious Prose; Brooke Brockman and Alayna Moore, Informative; Kassandra Salisbury and Xandria Pike, Poetry; Marissa McClung and Emily Winter, Duet Acting. We also had 3 events go straight to finals: Shannon Kennicutt, Extemporaneous; Lauren Hickey, Persuasive; and Lauren Hickey and Emily Winter, Entertainment.
