The 2026 girls golf season has come to an end, and the team had a very good season as they improved by a lot since last year at this time.

We asked girls golf coach, Charley Corkern, how the team improved throughout the year. Corkern said, “The girls were a pleasure to coach. They were all very coachable, they listened, and worked hard to improve their individual games throughout the season.”

Each golfer improved tremendously from districts last year to districts this year. The team averaged an improvement of 36 strokes.

“Several golfers this year had never played golf ever and they both finished with averages around 130. And my favorite stat of all is our team improvement score: 2025 = 521, 2026 = 442. This overall improvement of almost 80 strokes is remarkable," said Corkern.

Corkern is looking forward to next year's season and how much more the girls can improve by this time next year.
