For those of you who haven’t heard, Rich Einspahr passed away on Wednesday. After stints in teaching and as a principal elsewhere, he came to Elwood in the fall of 1992 and was the principal for ten years and then superintendent for another thirteen years and in retirement drove a bus route for another four. His interest was always with the students, doing what was best for them and keeping the school environment a well maintained and welcoming place. He certainly attended his share of sporting events, concerts, and activities in all that time, enjoying the success and hard work of everyone involved.
We want to pass along our condolences to his wife Robin, and to his children Allison and Carl, both graduates of Elwood. Your husband and father was a big part of this school and will be missed.
There will be a visitation at the Elwood Funeral Home Sunday February 2nd from 2:00-6:00 and his funeral will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 3 at the United Church of Kensington in Kensington, Kansas.
